A certified medical device designed explicitly for cancer patients to improve their emotional functioning and quality of life, while reducing cancer-related stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms at various stages of the disease.
Living Well is suitable for adult cancer patients who have recently been diagnosed, are undergoing treatment or are in recovery for all cancer types. It addresses diverse languages, genders, cultural backgrounds, visual impairments, literacy or motor skills, and coping skills for anxiety or depression.
Living Well can be used as a tool to complement patient treatment or as a sole intervention. With the app, we encourage patients to build healthy habits, better manage their new situation and live a happier and more fulfilling life.
Living Well is a Class I medical device aligned with the European MDR 2017/745. The certification ensures adherance to highest European standards.
Living Well has been developed by world-renowned experts in the fields of psycho-oncology, CBT, user experience, data science, and, of course, the patients themselves.
The app’s content is based on scientific facts and clinically validated methods, and draws on the lived experience of patients. It sources from a well-recognised psychotherapeutic approach.
Living Well follows the highest data security standards (ISO/IEC 27001) to ensure that any data collected from patients is safe and only available to those who are authorised to use it.
Our experts in user experience and game design introduced tools that will ensure that the app is engaging and tailored to the patients' needs. It aims to encourage use up to and beyond program completion.
Our app has undergone extensive user testing and is currently part of three ongoing clinical trials in Poland, Germany and the US.
The sessions cover three different content areas: regulating emotions, cognitive work with negative thoughts, and planning and behavioural activation. The patient should be able to and will be encouraged to complete at least three sessions per week. A single session takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
Living Well includes a large number of exercises that patients can use during the programme including: breathing exercises, work with imagination, engaging in pleasurable activities, mindfulness, gratitude and more.
Patients will be encouraged to use the emotions test at least once a week and to complete a daily stress thermometer. This not only helps them see their progress and identify problem areas, but is also a great tool for physicians or counselors who may be working with them as well.
In addition to the lessons and exercises, the app includes a vast number of resources that the patients can use at any time. This includes several articles, a Q&A section and podcasts. The app also includes several patient stories that can serve as a source of support for the existing users.
